The group is well known for its innovative adaptations of Shakespearian and other classic plays (often featuring new music written by Crude Apache members), but also for performances of new plays written by members of the group. We have also recently produced several short films.
From a small core group in the early 1990's Crude Apache has grown considerably to approximately 100 members at present.
Rather than being associated with a single venue, Crude Apache uses a variety of different sites in order to present productions to the best effect. Several of Norwich's most well known buildings have played host to Crude Apache, including the Castle Rotunda (Macbeth 1994), Norwich City Hall's Council Chamber (The Jury 2000) and Dragon Hall (Cunobelin 2001). The company is also well known for regularly taking part in Theatre in the Parks (frequently drawing large crowds) and for touring small shows around Norfolk's pubs at Christmas time.
Several of Crude Apache's members have appeared in feature films and probably our most famous members to date are Karl Minns and Owen Evans of The Nimmo Twins, well known for their TV and Radio appearences.
The group is constantly changing and evolving and is happy to welcome new members and try out new ideas.
