HIGH NOON
AT THE
GARAGE
by Sheriff Will Averill
Well, the day has finally dawned. It's Garage clear-out time. Please come and lend a hand to your erstwhile committee members.
It will really only take about an hour if there is a crew of us. Bring hands and vehicles if you can. Most stuff will be chucked and we will be able to find things once again.
Meet on Saturday 16th (this Sat!) at 12 noon at the Browne St Garage (behind the bookies on Old Palace Road). We will adjourn to The Nelson afterwards.
Call Will on 0779 516 0945 if you need directions and/or motivation.
The Cabaret Cupboard
A separate email will be coming around shortly. As I write, Russell J is finalising details. It will probably be in late October and will probably take place at The Shed. Rumours suggest there may be a Shitty Deal Puppet extravaganza, impro Theatre Games and the return of Jonathan Short-Back (Hi, Jonathan, glad you're still reading this!). Less solid rumours suggest Richard Brook is penning a bit of comedy too.
Contact Russ on 0773 907 3545 if any of this interests you.
A Christmas Show
Well, we decided there was going to be one in the traditional pub panto style. We are trying to come up with a film/cultural event tie-in like last year's Narnia link. Gro is acting as co-ordinator of interest and suggestions so give her a ring on 0778 606 4733.
Caradoc
Will has put forward Duncan's latest Celtic play Caradoc for late April/early May next year. He and Duncan are hoping to have the script written by Xmas and Sharon is on board as producer. A firm proposal will be put before the new committee.
Summer Show
No suggestions received as yet. The final installment of Pirates of the Caribbean is out next summer if anyone wants to cash in on pirate fever. Keep thinking about it and we welcome any proposals.
The
A.G.M.
is our next official get-together.
It will take place at The Nelson Pub on Monday October 9th. Committee meeting at 7-30pm and AGM starts at 8pm. A hot topic for discussion will be whether committee elections ought to be for a specific position or whether we should retain our current system of voting for 5 individuals who then assign positions between themselves. If you have any other subjects for the agenda, send them to Will.
Nominations for committee received so far are, in no particular order: Russell J Turner, Jo “Gro” Moore, Panda Monium, Tim Lane, Jo Edye, Tom Butterworth and Jenny Belsey.
As there are only 5 positions, there will be an election. Email/text/postal votes should be given to out-going Chairman Will. Contact him on 0779 516 0945 or willaverill@ntlworld.com
Other Stuff
Hooray for The Coalition, great show... Look forward to more...
Check
out Will playing a black woman in a film... "A
movie that I appeared as a black woman in is coming to Norwich.
It's called "CSA: The Confederate States of America", and
the premise is that it's a BBC documentary looking at modern day
America if the South had
won the war. It was filmed primarily in
my hometown of Lawrence, Kansas, and both of my folks are in it as
well. I'd like to get as many
people as possible together for the
Cinema City showing Monday, the 25th of September at
8.30p.m. at Cinema City at the Playhouse."

show can be found
