CRUDE APACHE NEWS
September 2005
Wow ! It's this month's bumper packed
newsletter...
...TREAD THOSE BOARDS...
...crudettes doing what they do best
At last month's meeting there were eight projects thrown onto the table. Being ever financially aware, your committee told them to begone and return forthwith accompanied by a team, a venue and a budget. Well by golly, that's exactly what they all did. So here is your rundown to what's on offer over the next 12 months. In no particular order...
The Coalition
The boys done good. Early reports on episodes 3 & 4 suggest a small profit and more importantly they were really funny! The cheeky one, the funny one and the Yank are already penning episodes 5 & 6. Their budget of £700 was approved and the shows will take place at The Garage on February 23th to 25th. There will be a plethora of support roles so auditions will be held early next year.
Xmas Show
Russ and Gro were given the go ahead for their Xmas Pub Panto Plan. Shows will be between December 5th and 20th in pubs across Norwich and Beyond! The budget of £250 was approved and auditions will be soon.
Abigail's Party
Jo Swan is beginning development on a modern version of Abigail's Party. She has put together a working group which includes the Boyz from the Lounge and our latest new member Ali. Script will be ready at the end of the year with a performance pencilled in for late April or early August. Interested? Call Jo on 07963 997729.
Faust
Dani proposed Marlowe's Faust for performance on May 25th to 27th at The Garage next year. For those who don't know it, its a classic, I love it. There are 15 great roles in a variety of sizes and roughly half male half female. Auditions will be early next year. Call Dani on 461319 for more information.
Singing Postman
Edye's project continues apace and looks likely for next summer's Theatre In The Parks. Watch this space for updates.
Copenhagen
Russ J. has approached the council about performing Michael Frayn's play as part of the City of Science Festival next September. Again, updates soon.
THE
AGM
Your chance to elect the committee you deserve. The AGM will take place on Monday 10th October at 8pm at The Nelson following a committee meeting at 7-30pm. Nominations so far include: Puppet Tom, Will “The Yank” Averill, Dani “Faust” Doughty, Pete “S & M” Stengun and Russell Jocasta. Jo W. Edye will be our independent elections officer so anyone wishing to nominate themselves or vote by proxy should contact him via jo@trolleyfilms.co.uk

STUFF GOING ON
Fantastic two day workshop coming up on September 22nd and 23rd at Norwich Arts Centre on Open Source software (and before you leap to conclusions, it has nothing to do with me or Rupert – indeed, I shall be attending it myself). Only £20/£10 concessions. Call NAC on 660352 for details or to book.
Bridget O'Brien will be leading a workshop on commedia del'arte on October 7th and 8th (it begins in the evening) at Holt Hall. Your £50 includes meals and accommodation. To book contact Joc Mack on 01508 492547 or joc.mack@tesco.net
Visceral Theatre are holding a festival at The Garage in February. It's £15 to participate. Contact Christina at The Garage if you are interested.
Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th October Kaos Theatre are performing Moll Flanders at The Playhouse. It will be good, their shows always are. i wouldn't bother with the two Love & Madness shows at the end of September – they tend to be more miss than hit in my opinion.
