CRUDE APACHE NEWS
July 2005This month's guest minute taker is...
TOM “PUPPET” BUTTERWORTH
...so tell us what's going on, Tom...
Billy Bluelight
It all went great, Russ got bought a Blue Lantern (geddit!?) and says big thank yous to everyone involved, especially Ruth who stepped in at the last minute to put in a top notch performance. Early financial predictions are very positive and we can all breath a sigh of relief.
Da Coalition
All proceeding nicely, although on the most-est hardcore time table ever conceived of - a mere 4 weeks for rehearsals, filming and editing! Show can be seen at The Garage on 4th, 5th and 6th August.
Science Festival
Russ
J. is still thinking about doing a production of the play
'Copenhagen' for the upcoming science festival doohickey. But it's
all just cogitation at the moment, nothing planned as yet.
Nelson Thing
As
far as we know this is still going ahead with a Shitty Deal puppet
show all about Nelson and his one armed banditry across the high seas
- or something like that. Pester Will Averill if you're interested
but NOT NOW because he's busy working on the Coalition.
Xmas Thing
Jo
and Tim are apparently still up for putting together a Pub Show at
Xmas, as is Russ and others. It will be a relatively impromptu show
and we will be waiting for the aftermath of the Coalition and the
Nelson Thing before attacking this.
The Fringe Thing
N&N
Fringe festival - end of sept/early oct – have a performance space
set aside, 3 hours for 2 nights, looking to put on 6-8 short pieces
per night. Shall we be involved? Suggestions so far:
-Coaliton
Unplugged
- Nelson Thing
It's free but a hat does go round.
Apparently they also have Action Poets - Poets who save lives in
rhyme, or possibly Poets In Disguise!
The
AOB Thing - who knows, sounds naff, but anyway...
Garage
Doors: Jo Edye is getting the builders in apparently.
NEXT YEAR:
the schedule for next year is starting to shape up
nicely, so if
you have ideas you want to submit to the committee get them in now!
The Gossip Thing
It is rumoured that Puppet Tom may
be moving in to Chez Clunge at the end of August. Why? Who knows...
It is also rumoured that Will Averill was seen being run over
by a Dog in a jeep during a Guest Appearance on Family Guy. Apparently
he was mistaken for Dean Koontz. Hard knock life, being a
writer...
Rumours also fly that Pete Stening has turned
straight. Har har, Straightlord.
NEXT MEETING:
Monday the
8th of August, 8pm. Probably at the Neslon
again.
An
appeal from Eve Stebbing...
Jonny
has had to pull out of the summer show to do a Telly: so we're
looking for an Old Heronomous for the summer show: it's equity
minimum which is £324 per week. Interested? Contact Eve at
Spin Off Theatre on 663676.
