Other stuff people have emailed to me

From Rita:

I've just been doing a short journalism course funded by Norwich Community Arts, partly based at Future Radio, the community radio station for West Norwich (basically North Earlham, Larkman and Marlpit Lane areas but can be heard all over city). They are on the usual community radio licence at the moment, i.e. 28 days broadcast every six months, but next year they will be broadcasting full time and moving into bigger premises and as well as needing more presenters, journalists etc., the guys there are keen to include more arts programs and possibly studio-based drama. So could be a fruitful link for Crude Apache! Their website for general info is www.futurefmradio.co.uk or contact Tom, the Station Manager - t.buckham@futurefmradio.co.uk 01603-250505.

From Gareth:

Norwich Union's Community Stars programme has been designed to offer support to local registered charities. Norwich Union takes its responsibilities as a corporate citizen seriously and, as we have an impact on the communities in which we are based, we are committed to this local support. Basically, each area has been allocated a budget and each quarter a local panel will decide which projects to support with how much. This donation will be on set criteria, and in most circumstances, the minimum donation will be £250 and the maximum £1500. Contacts are Carole Holder Team Manager 0121 696 6178, Linda Doherty Regional Administrator 0121 262 2445, Rachel Mathias Adviser 0121 696 6909.

From Thorpe Market:

Interested to read about the singing postmen production. I organise events at Thorpe Market church - NO, do not switch off at the mention of church! We use the building as a community resource and stage a wide variety of events, see www.thorpemarket.org.uk If you ever had suitable productions looking for a venue we can offer a beautiful churchyard with an area devoid of gravestones and have 100+ portable seating for outside use. We also have demountable staging that could be used outside if needed. The church itself is well equipped with staging and modern facilities and cushions on the pews and p/a system so even for outside activities we have a wet weather retreat! Our principal desire is not to raise money - we are self-sufficient – but to keep a unique building alive and in the control of the local population. Please do contact me if you think we could be of mutual interest to each other!

Yours, Margaret Hunter info@thorpemarket.org.uk
