Crude apache Newsletter May 2004

Dramatis Personae

Present: Russell J Turner, Andy Bennett, Nicki Dixon, Jo Edye, Will Averill, Tom Butterworth, Phil Harris, Weazle, Steven Rayner, Jo Yorke. Apologies: Jon Creek.

The Street

Auditions for our summer extravaganza went well and the show is now cast with rehearsals in progress as we speak (well not really but you know what I mean). Dates will be announced in the next newsletter. Jo is still looking for people with memories, memorabilia etc of Argyle St. Contact him if you have anything to offer on 01603 630530 or jo@trolleyfilms.co.uk.

The Garage

Pete Stening has kindly agreed to tidy up the hell hole that is the CA garage. Anyone who wishes to help please contact him on 07812 575 817 and you will receive our undying gratitude.

The Trailer

Weazle received big thanks for his stewardship of the CA trailer. However the council have written to him declaring it to be 'an eyesore' (personally I always thought it looked rather fetching) and so now a new home is required. Anyone with any bright ideas about where we can store it or about storage space in general please contact Russell on 07739 073 545.

Jo Yorke's Stuff

After a splendid evening of wine and canapes Jo was so impressed by the read through of her play about the Marquis de Sade that she wants to do it all again at the Branford Arms, Thu 3rd June, 9pm (after the next committee meeting). Anyone interested in taking part please contact her on 07963 997 729 so she has some idea of numbers.

Jo will also be putting together a workshop for the RADA Shakespeare certificate in the Autumn. Watch this space for details.

She also has another play in the pipeline based on a published novel for which the author has given his blessing. Watch this space etc.

Six by Three

Will Averill's hour long fun fest of six short plays will be appearing at St Peter's Hall, Park Lane, Thu 3 to Sat 5th June, 7.30. Tickets are £5/4 and are available from NAC Box Office 01603 660352 or on the door. Please all come along and give them some rousing support.

Partee

Steven Rayner foolishly managed to get himself seconded onto the CA 10th Anniversary Party committee by agreeing to approach NAC with proposals for a party in September. Seriously though, thank you Steve. Watch etc.

Phil's Stuff

Phil will be having another read through of 'Erosia', his Shakespearean take on the murder of the Nepalese royal family, at the Branford Arms, Sun 30th May, 7.30pm. Anyone interested in taking part please contact him on 07906 316 588 so he has some idea of numbers (oh the wonders of cut and paste).

We'll Meet Again

Thursday 3rd June, 7.30pm, Branford Arms PH. As usual all are welcome.
