Crude Apache News - August 2004

The Street
Generally hailed by all as a success, feedback from audience was very good,
and very positive from ex-residents of Argyle St. Pity about the dodgy
weather, but we ended up with a profit of around £1,700 so a financial
success as well. Nick Warburton has videos of the Saturday night at the
Whiffler show for £6 - you can contact him on 01603 441098, and Peter Barden
is finishing off the edited DVD using footage taken at Barford. Watch this

Vikings
Jo Yorke and Phil Harris have taken on the organisation of our involvement
in the Swain Forkbeard viking festival in September. They have organised a
meeting / workshop on tuesday 24th August at the old bed shop on Botolph St.
(between Anglia Square and St. Augustines) for all those interested.
It's a very interesting event, and exactly the kind of thing
that we want to be supporting - bringing theatre and local history together
and taking it to the streets. Participants are to be plied with beer and
sandwiches, free entry to other events that are taking place throughout
September and a gret old party at the end. Call Jo on 07963 997729 for more

Party
Party plans have been thrown into confusion by the Hog in Armour not now
available on our prefered date of 1st October. We will try to stick to this
date and find another venue. Watch this space.

Nelson PH
Our wonderful new freinds at the Nelson PH, who have given us magnificent
support during the production of 'The Street', are having athier annual beer
festival from 15-17th October, and like last year are looking for acts -
anything goes, comedy, music, fish impersonation etc. etc. so long as it's
short and loud, bit like me really....

Looks like Phil Harris is cooking up something nourishing for the cold
winter months, watch this space...

And then the spring
Tim Lane is the latest big hitter to climb aboard Jo Yorke's De Sade express
- due to hit stages near you in spring '05 - with Ms. Yorkes energy and the
experience of Panda, Amanda Grenway and Tim Lane behind her, I think we can
expect great things.

Archive
Ellie Firth has agreed to take on the job of attempting to catalogue the
Crude Apache archive - a thankless task yet to be mastered (it has seen off
both previous encumbents without trace) so if you have ANY stuff - videos,
posters, old scripts, let Ellie know so she can write it down in a little

AGM
The glorious bun-fight that is the Crude Apache AGM will take place on
Monday 4th October, at the Nelson PH at 7.30pm. All nominations for the
committee and items for the agenda should be brought to the attention of the
